Data Engineer

At SIROC we are looking for a Data Engineer to join our worldwide team. As a Data Engineer, you will play a necessary role in our team, focusing on the data pipelines and data analysis, working together with our engineers, project managers, designers, and venture investors. Your ability to explore and do magic with data will play a key role in the success of our experimental SaaS and B2B products and the digital AI transformation of our customers.

🎯 What You’ll Do

Create, maintain, and improve ETL workflows to keep up & shape our current and future data landscape.
Work hand in hand with our data team and other stakeholders to prepare datasets for decision-making. Take ownership of data modeling, data migration, and data optimization tasks.
Identify possibilities for automating processes and contribute to increasing the efficiency of our teams.
Ensure scalability, flexibility, and maintainability of the data solutions.
Proactively assess and ensure data quality by using appropriate tools and principles.
Participate in product workshops to understand and add value from a data engineering perspective.
Proposing and implementing high-tech, innovative solutions.
Proactively communicating with colleagues to refine application design.
Writing meaningful clean code and doing code reviews.
Assisting your colleagues to achieve their goals.

🤩 What We Expect From You

Fluent in English with excellent oral and written communication skills.
University degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or similar is highly desirable.
Ability to prioritize, organize, and execute within a high-pressure environment.
Experience in data or engineering related roles (e.g. data / software engineering, data science, analytics).
An understanding of database technology and solid SQL skills (as postgreSQL, mariaDB, TimescaleDB, among others).
A good understanding of Python, with experience in packages for data manipulation.
Experience working with Python environments in macOS or Linux.
Experience working with Docker is a plus.
Experience in navigating the cloud, ideally with a knowledge of services for data integration.
Confident working with APIs. Extra points for knowledge of FastAPI or equivalent.
An understanding of orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Celery).
Data-driven and good with numbers whilst being able to explain complex concepts.
Ability to motivate, encourage, persuade, increase cooperation and reduce tension among team members.
Experience in Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery systems.
Experience working in an Agile environment.
